Shri Vidya Guru Shri Urvashiben (My Guru)

 Jai Bahuchar Jai Gurudev All

Around from last 3 years, To satisfy my eagerness for knowing all the unknown facets of macrocosm(universe) and microcosm(my body), I was looking for a philosophical cum scientific system or path which covers everything. I started to look for a Guru who can initiate me and teach me the hidden secrets of the such knowledge. My friend who said, “It is the Guru who finds a Shishya (disciple), not at the wish of Shishya.” I just thought I will wait until my Guru will appear to me at the right time.

I am a Shakta (Shakti Upasak-Devotee) and I feel infinite love and devotion for Goddess Bahucharaji (Bala Tripura Sundari). Out of love,  I installed a BalaYantra  at home. To meditate on the Yantra, I started reciting Beej (seed) Mantra written on the Yantra with the intention to find me a right Guru, it is said that such Mantras must not be recited without mantra Deeksha(initiation) from a capable Guru but it was Bala’s wish to take me to the Guru. I came to know about Shri Vidya straight after starting reciting this Mantra, read more and more about Shri Vidya. It attracted me so strongly especially because Shri Vidya is confluence of  Advaita Vedanta , Bhakti yoga , Raja Yoga and Tantra(Kundalini Yoga). I was reading the book of Swami Rama of Himalayas (Who was Shri Shankaracharya at one time in his life) called “Living with Himalayan Masters” where he said Shri Vidya is the highest path of all paths, highly technical, shortest and hardest too. It is said that you can know Shri Vidya (Lalita Tripur Sundari) only if she wishes so.

It is said you must, in past lives, have done thousands of years of sadhana of all the devatas such as Vishnu, Shiva, etc. to reach this point. It is said that one can obtain initiation into Srividya only if one is in his/her or his final birth – or is verily Shiva Himself. I was sceptical whether I will be able to even get an understanding about Shri Vidya. I searched for Gurus from Jyotirmani Peeth in Uttarakhand to South India to suit my need but some places didn’t have workshops running or Gurus who can talk to me, some were too busy to talk. I can understand now that Bala had something else pre-planned for me.

The long awaiting wait supposed to be finished in mid August 2017, Being a science and technology student I never used to believe such thing as a divine interventions at such small level which drives your life and probably you wouldn’t believe me too. One day I was browsing something on my mobile phone and suddenly the website www.shrividya.com opened in front of me. I started reading about it and felt this is it, this the place I belong to. It is 4okms away from hometown Mehsana where I lived almost 25 years but never came across.

On 21 August 2017 at 3:04pm (West Australian Standard Time) I rang on the landline number given on the website. It was Somvati Amas of holy month of Shravan and lot of puja/hawan was happening on the other side of the phone. The sweet voice from other side said “Jai Ambe Jai Gurudev”, I copied and started to tell why I rang. That voice was from Shri Urvashiben-Current Peethadhipati of Kadi Shri Vidya Learning Centre of Shri Vidya Pashupat (Kashi) Parampara. I call her Gurubaa (Daughter of Shri Devibaa and Shri Shivguruji). She calmly listened and suggested to start Shri Suktam before I go to the Shri Vidya learning centre called Raj  Rajeshwari Peeth at Kadi, North Gujarat. I reciprocated and started the Shri Suktam with pure devotion. I called her many times within next 5-6 weeks and she always replied with motherly voice and love. I finally made my mind to see her when I travel to India in October 2017. On the very first day in India, I went to see Shri Gurubaa at Kadi with my younger brother. She explained and advised what is next to be done. Gurubaa  gave me and my brother a Mantra  Deeksha(initiation) on very auspicious day of Diwali. We feel very lucky belonging to such a rich Parampara. If we want to save the Pramapara for future generations, we have to follow it first. The Shakta shastras allow of women being Guru, or Spiritual Director, a reverence which the West has not (with rare exceptions) yet given them. Initiation by a Mother bears eightfold fruit. Indeed to the enlightened Shakta the whole universe is Stri or Shakti. Indeed, in some texts initiation by a female guru is considered the highest form of induction into Shri Vidya. As Stri already posses Devi’s attributes physiologically and psychologically.

Param Pujya Shri Urvashiben is the oldest daughter of Param Pujya Sri Devi Ba and Param Pujya Shiv Guruji who are the founders of the Shri Rajrajeshwari Peetham in Kadi.

Born on 30th October 1950, Param Pujya Urvashiben married Shri Jagdishchandra on the 10th March 1969 and have 2 sons and 2 grandchildren.  From an early age, growing up in a spiritual household,  Uravashiben received insight and knowledge of Sri Vidya from her parents and Guru Parampara culminating in her being given Purnadiksha and is currently Peethdheesh of the Kadi Shri Vidya Peetham,

Shri Urvashibentirelessly leads the Peetham in Gujarat and the Shri Vidya Guru lineage by teaching and guiding sadhakas in to this discipline and selflessly emanating Her divine Love. Shri Vidya Pujans and Archans are carried out daily, ans she travels at lengths around Gujarat to teach and propagate true Shri Vidya.

Having a warming smile, a radiant personality, always welcoming and full of Motherly Love, she has many disciples and has given Purnadiksha to many. She is a true living Devi (Tvarit Amba) and a leading female Shri Vidya Guru in the world.

7# पितृ देवो भव् – Remembering My Father on His Birthday

“मातृ देवो भव् पितृ देवो भव् “… (Taittiriya Upanishad) means Respects to Mother and Father. They are all forms of God.

I believe they are the only living gods we see in our life.

I am dedicating this article to my inspiration, friend, philosopher and guide – My Father.

He was a fourth child among six siblings born to educated farmer. His parents and my  grandparents Narayandas and Gangaben were a happy couple, working hard to raise their family with very small pack of land inherited by forefathers and were living in my native village Karbatiya (Ta. Vadnagar , India).

I heard from my father that his parents had to sell their most of their belongings over the time to give their kids a good education. My grandfather always believed that the education is the only way to transform to your spiritual and socio-economic status. The same belief percolated into my father due to his real life experiences. The respect and love for his parents was great. He did anything he could do to make them feel cared and loved. I rate him dedicated and responsible son.

A person being emotional , family , friends and native place lover was very popular in every community of our native village. Even today his friends still tell us his stories about all the mischief they did together and also how academically brilliant, handsome (actually people called him Rishi Kapoor in his school/college days) and brave was he? that makes us feel proud. I have seen his friends cried for him when he left us forever.Members of every community came to his funeral. That showed the love he received from his friends and community and vice versa.

I consider his love for his siblings and their kids was very sacrificial however it has never been appreciated. My cousins still recognise and accept the fact about his solicitude to our big family.

His love and respect to my mother was just phenomenal however he admitted that he could never give everything she deserved due to his illness and other commitments. He expressed regret in front of me in his last days that whether he could ever give her anything back what she has sacrified for us.

We two brothers of course were jewels of his eyes. His way to love us was quite a different. The discipline and health were main themes in his affection. We were denied other food if would not eat any healthy stuff like bitter melon :). A good thing was that he just motivated to be excellent at whatever we do regardless of type and level of work. That made us more pressure free in our career paths. The bedtime stories he told us included the stories of Ramayan,Mahabharat and Indian independence.Further he nurtured our hobby of reading and my natural fine art skills. As a Mukhya Shikshak at RSS Shakha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rashtriya_Swayamsevak_Sangh), he took us there every evening. That encouraged our self-awareness of nationalism, morality, duties, leadership, equality and physical fitness. His teaching on moral values was practical, one of the real life experience when we kids bought chocolates from the shop and the shopkeeper returned us more change than it should be,we were happy kids because we got extra money by somebody’s mistake but eventually we had been brought back to the shop and told to return the extra bucks. We didnt like that initially but we felt respect about ourselves and our father for doing the right thing.

His motivation on our failures still reminds me that how positive was he.On the failures in the life exams and having the greatest disappointments, he usually said “you will have many other chances, this is not the end of life,on positive side you still can learn from your failures.”, to be honest he was damn right. Despite of his on and off 15 year bedridden illness , he was full of positivity and spirituality. He never got depressed because of his deteriorated health and eventually financial and other opportunities in his life. I don’t know where did he get that energy from? He always believed in “Law of Karma”. He always said that the reason of his suffering might be his Karma from his past life. He preached us to be conscious about our Karma and we are trying to be very conscious. We are taking our health very seriously because he gave his own example about how health is the real wealth. On kids development he used to say , “parents are the only best teachers in the world and we can’t just transfer our major responsibility of values and academic education to the kids’ school teachers only.”He used to say make good and long term friends and love them without any expectations.

I don’t know what people would have ever recognised him – just by his financial success or by his status? but for us he was our teacher, motivator, philosophical friend and a great father.

Would we ever be able to give such a wealth to our new generations? Would we be able to do such a great sacrifices for our parents ?

On his birthday today (23 November) he would have completed 60 years and we would have celebrated his Shasthi Poorti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shashti_Poorthi).Unfortunately he is physically not with us since December 2007 but spiritually,by his thoughts and ideology he will be will us forever, generations to generations.

Love you dad and we need you today for ourselves and our kids.We acknowledge and appreciate your importance in our life. We know you are smiling and blessing us from the sky as Pitru (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitrs).

Wishing you a very happy birthday Pappa and Miss you so much…………………………
